With this clever tool, it’s easy to find the GMB part number for nearly any size universal joint.
To use the tool:
- Measure the cross length of the u-joint with the bearing caps removed.
- The sheet inside the tool slides up and down.
- Slide the insert inside the tool up and down to find your u-joint’s cross length in the small window.
- Check the bearing cap type and/or center-to-center bearing mount dimensions to find the exact part number you need.
- All GMB part numbers have a 3-digit prefix that includes the bearing type (standard, performance, HD, etc.). The last 4 digits indicate the bearing size.
If, for example, the u-joint selector indicates your part number is 215-0178, you can purchase any GMB universal joint that ends in “0178”, as the last 4 digits indicate the size.
